[Resources] Alberta Community of Citizens with Disabilities - Education for Life Bursary In honor of our 25th anniversary in 1998, the Alberta Committee implemented the Education for Life Bursary. With this annual award, we support and encourage individuals in upgrading their education, preparing them to meet the challenges of a post-secondary education.
Each year, this bursary assists first-time, post-secondary learners in overcoming the financial barriers they may encounter when taking on new educational challenges. The bursary is awarded to people with disabilities at the entry level or those attempting one course to begin their post-secondary education. The names of the recipients are included in a variety of ACCD publications such as our Annual Report and our newsletter, Action News.

[Resources] KAMPS - Kinesiology and Meta-cognitive Psychological Services In addition to being a psychologist, Dr. Kamps holds degrees in Physical education, Kinesiology, Education and Educational Psychology. She provides individual assessments for children 5 to 15 years. She provides consultations to clients, parents and teachers about the impact of motor coordination difficulties or various domains of functioning, and what may help. Individual and small-group interventions, which are based on a meta-cognitive approach. Recommendations and strategies, which are designed to address the underlying cause of the client’s motor difficulties, enhance their academic achievement, and improve their psychosocial development.
