The person with learning disabilities has average to above average intelligence but the actual level of achievement falls below intellectual potential. Because of an inability to correctly process, integrate and organize some particular kinds of sensory information, there is failure to master one or more of the basic learning skills such as reading, spelling, writing, language, and arithmetic.
The Calgary Chapter is a regional unit affiliated provincially (LDAA) and nationally (LDAC) with a network of agencies seeking to advance the education and well-being of children and adults who have been classified as having normal or potentially normal intelligence.
